Hello everyone,
I know I said that I wouldn't be doing the monthly calendar picture post this year since I haven't been able to acquire the official calendar, but then, something amazing happened!
My dear, absolutely wonderful friend Cutata sent me this AMAZING calendar she made herself, with her own beautiful pictures! Have you ever seen anything more incredible and special? I was in awe when I received it, and frankly, I still am every time I look at it! For me, it's even better than the official one, since it was a heartfelt gesture from a dear friend. So THANK YOU SO MUCH, Cutata, for your lovely gift! I'll always treasure it! :D
So, how could I NOT keep writing the monthly calendar post? :) I'm sure you all understand, hehe!
Before carefully looking at the lovely picture for January, let me show you a few pictures of the calendar itself:
The Sylvanian rabbits are celebrating the winter holidays! Love all the decorations and their tiny glasses with drinks! Even Munchie is there!
It says "Happy 2021". :)
This lovely picture is on the back
of the calendar. Sylvanians playing with their
own tiny dollhouses, making dioramas and scenes! :D Could it be more perfect?
I believe Cutata originally posted this lovely picture on her Instagram.
Here
you can see how the whole calendar looks when displayed on the wall.
Cutata left plenty of space for making notes as needed on each month! A thoughtful detail!
I love both the colours (warm tones and pastels, my favourites! :D) and the font type she chose. :)
And finally, here we are! This is the first picture of the calendar, the one for the month of January!
This picture originally appeared on Cutata's blog, on her entry for the Winter Breakfast forum challenge back in 2019.
We can see Agatha Buckley here, with her son Freddie and her husband Rupert. Both father and son are getting ready to take a quick trip to the supermarket, so Agatha is making sure Freddie is suitably warm!
This is a lovely family scene, perfect for this cold month of January (at least here in Spain!). The Buckleys' kitchen in their home of the idyllic Sweet Berry Valley is so cozy and welcoming. Look at the lovely wallpaper and the beautiful hand-made curtains! Cutata has an amazing eye for detail, and that's why her pictures are always such a treat. Everything is always just where and how it should be. I believe Agatha's apron might also be hand-made!
I love how both father and son are wearing shoes. Perfect, and absolutely needed for walking in the snow! :D
I also love the little poster: "The kitchen is the heart of the home"!
If you want to see more pictures of the Buckleys' home, check these posts in Cutata's blog: Here and here!
I'm looking forward to next month's calendar picture already, haha! :)
Thank you VERY MUCH once again, dear Cutata, for your lovely gesture and gift! It made me truly happy. I hope it shows in these monthly posts! :)
Have a wonderful month of January, everyone. Stay safe and healthy!
Wow! That is beautiful. Cutata's work is always high quality and heartwarming. I am so happy that you've received this generous gift and look forward to seeing more in the coming months.
ReplyDeleteKeep safe and enjoy the rest of January.
Hello Jackson!
DeleteThank you for your comment, and I completely agree! Cutata's calendar is amazing and made me so happy!
Stay safe and healthy as well!
Wow! What an unexpected coincidence! It's a beautiful handmade calendar and I agree with you! This is better than the official calender because of the heart.
ReplyDeleteThe Instagram photo is so pretty and my sister and I are so jelly about those minature houses! Doll houses for doll house characters are just so fun! I am so jealous about the emerald roof house in the back because me and my sister use it as a "main" house in our stories!
As for the calender picture, it's a work of art! It is hard to believe this isn't an official photo, but fan made!
Hello Posh Pear,
DeleteThank you very much for your comment! Isn't Cutata's calendar fabulous? She's amazing, it was such a lovely gesture! You're absolutely right regarding the picture.
I completely agree with you regarding the tiny dollhouses. I'm jealous of you and your sister because you own the House on the Hill/Oakwood Manor, haha! It must be so gorgeous! When I started collecting, I contemplated buying one, but it wouldn't fit anywhere in my house (my boyfriend Marcos and I live in a tiny apartment). Maybe one day!
Have a great week!
I agree, Cutata's calendar is a work of art. There's so much detail, such as the white cookie jar in the corner. A detail I love is how in her Instagram photo Grace/Creme (she's called Grace in the US) is playing with a miniature version of herself.
DeleteWe love our Deluxe Village House (I think that's the US name) dearly. It was a gift from our grandma. Fingers crossed you own the house 1 day too! 🤞
Happy (late) New Year, Ayrell!
Happy New Year to you and Ali, too!
DeleteI completely agree with you. Cutata takes beautiful pictures and makes lovely miniatures, she's truly talented and has a wonderful eye for detail. Do check her blog if you haven't already!
What a wonderful gift from your grandma the house was! No wonder you cherish it so much. :)
Have a great day!
Another comment, haha. This comment is for thanking you for visiting me and Ali's blog. (I commented here because the other comment thread became a little long); It meant so much that we actually had someone besides our friends to go on! We hope you enjoyed our stories and comics.
ReplyDeleteWe are very lucky to have gone to Japan for a family vacation and buy gashapon. They are treasured in our village.
Oh, no trouble at all! I should thank you and Ali for the link to your blog! If it's OK, I can add a link to it in my sidebar. :) I love how you have the biographies displayed, and making stories in comic book format was a great idea! Must be a lot of work, but the end result is worth it!
DeleteI haven't been able to calmly read all of your stories yet, but I'm looking forward to it! Your Teri sounds hilarous with her VERY TERI posts, hehe!
I've always wanted the gashapon set that complete the Brick Oven Bakery. Alas, they're very expensive now!
Have a wonderful day, stay safe and healthy!
We would love it if you put it there, you didn't have to ask! Thank you so much, we both appreciate it!!!
DeleteThanks for the kind feedback. We're both glad that you like our comics. We try to make one once a month or so.
Yes, Teri seems to have the most character in our stories. Teri is our comical relief, hahaha. She's very opinionated and she loves getting it out there.
-Have a good 2021, Posh Pear!
Thank you! It is done, link added! :D I hope you get more visitors soon!
DeleteHaha, those types of characters are so much fun! It feels like they're the ones narrating their own stories sometimes. :)
Have a great week!
Thank you so much! We appreciate a lot! Hope you enjoy our stories!
DeleteI'm sure I will! :) Thank you both!
DeleteHello Ayrell! Wow, this calendar is certainly stunning! Cutata, if you are reading this, you did the most amazing job!
ReplyDeleteAyrell, I am sure that you will definitely treasure this calendar. I always look forward to your posts each month for the next picture, so I'm glad you are going to continue with this one. I really love the photo of the Sylvanians making their own dioramas, hehe! Cutata is just so creative!
Thank you for sharing this with us! All the best for 2021!
Hello Kelsie!
DeleteThank you for your comment, I completely agree regarding the calendar! :D
It makes me happy to read that you look forward to my monthly posts! I'm also happy that this wonderful gift will give me a chance to continue doing them.
Have a wonderful week, stay safe and healthy!
