July 2022 Calendar Picture

Hello everyone!

It's hard to believe, but half the year is already behind us. Here's this month's picture in the official Sylvanian Families calendar from this year 2022.

And we have a parade from the theme park setting! A very colourful picture indeed, look at all those babies, vehicles and costumes! It's truly adorable, and there's so much to see! I don't plan on getting any buildings from this series, but they sure are cute and whimsical.

Work has been busy and I have not had much energy for my Sylvanians lately, but I have recently purchased the Puddlefords re-release and the Beaver's Hiking set. I love both sets and the figures are truly adorable. I hope to be able to introduce these Sylvanians to my Arcfield stories soon. :)

Have a wonderful month of July, and stay safe and healthy!

  1. Hi Ayrell.

This is a different picture, isn't it? My first impression was that it was too busy/bitty, but when I zoomed in to look at the actual figures I saw its appeal. All those little fuzzy folk in their varied costumes parading to celebrate some unnamed occasion. The detail is great, and I like the elegant masked panda leading the procession.

I'm not as keen on the pastel plastic accessories of the new range; I'm drawn to the the rustic appeal of the earlier of the original concept, and I appreciate even the tasteful ornate buildings of the town range - despite not buying any (yet) - but I couldn't see myself buying the new stuff. Still, I doubt that I come anywhere near the demographic of Epoch's customer base. Thankfully, I feel that the figures continue to be cute and maintain their magic. As ably demonstrated in the procession.

    Take care!

    1. Hi Jackson!
Thank you for your comment. I agree with you regarding the picture, it also seems familiar to me, like there's been a very similar one in the calendar before. The parade and the babies are still very cute though, I also like the clothes and costumes everyone is wearing. :)

I also prefer the rural/village aesthetic. Thankfully some of the new releases still have that feeling, and the new families are indeed very adorable, so we still have a lot to look forward too! I wish they'd go back to the types of sets we had in the Flair era, that one is my favourite for sure, but I understand that they need to target to their current demographic.

      Have a wonderful week-end!

  2. I absolutely adore this picture. It's random, but cute. How did you obtain the Puddefords? As far as I have discovered, they're only in the UK and Japan! (Sorry If that sounds like pestering, I just love the Puddlefords). I am quite a fan of your blog!

    1. Hi!

Thank you so much for your comment and welcome to the blog! I'm so glad to read that you enjoy my posts! I haven't been posting as many stories lately, but hopefully you like the ones already there!

No bother at all regarding the Puddlefords! I also love them and I'm thrilled that they re-released them. I got them from the official Spanish Sylvanian Families online store, they only sell them there, similarly to the UK store I guess. If your country has an official store/website they might have them there! Good luck! :)

Have a great week-end and thanks again!

    2. Thank you! Unfortunately, here in Australia we lack an official store, so I managed to run out of patience and purchase one from Japan! Only to find out it would be two months! Ah well, what can you do? I do love all your stories, so magnificent.
      Have a great day!
