Hi everyone!
It's a new year, and I'd like to spend more time with my Sylvanians, so what better way than participating in some forum challenges?
Here's my entry for 2024's challenge number 1, "Kitchens"!
Welcome to 2024! A new year is the perfect
time to refresh, redesign or redecorate. We are starting with a focus
on the busiest room in the house - the kitchen!
Make an item or items, photograph a scene, write a story or do whatever
inspires you to create a project around the Kitchens theme!
The kitchen I bring you today is a bit unusual, though...
The Midnight cat family (mother Samantha, father James, daughter Chantelle and baby son Reggie) came to Arcfield to perform their fabulous show and stayed for the kindness of the villagers and the unknown, powerful magic of the nearby forest.
While her husband James is an expert in tricks and illusions, Samantha has always had more mystical talents and an interest in plants and nature, so she couldn't miss the opportunity to study the place. The family doesn't live in the village itself, but right in the mysterious woods.
Samantha hasn't yet shared her knowledge and talents with the inhabitants of Arcfield; she's not sure they're ready yet, but she hopes that someday she will be able to share her tea with someone willing to let her use her magic to help them. For now, she enjoys her time alone, quietly studying from her numerous books.
While little baby Reggie, despite being so young, already seems interested in his father's tricks and likes hiding in his top hat from time to time, the couple's older daughter, Chantelle, seems to have inherited her mother's talents. As such, the two of them spend a lot of time together.
Chantelle loves learning about plants, mushrooms and their different uses, and her mother loves teaching her as well.
And, as you can see, Chantelle already knows that, when preparing potions and dealing with possibly dangerous fumes, safety comes first!

That's it for now! Hope you enjoyed my entry for the challenge. I absolutely love this Re-Ment set; I'd wanted it ever since it came out a few years ago, and last year my boyfriend got it for me for my birthday. I couldn't be happier! I had a lot of fun getting all the miniatures out of the little boxes and setting this scene up. I think it might be one of my favourites I've created, but then again, I've always loved witchy stuff, haha!
Have a wonderful rest of the week, everyone!
Wow! What glorious photos! The set-up is wonderful and the idea is so inventive. Alchemy! Great thinking.
ReplyDeleteI loved hearing about your Midnight family and Samantha tapping into the magic of the nearby forest. I am curious as to the magical skills she will bring to the aid of her Arcfield neighbours. I like how you've left the options open.
So happy you've treated us to a new story. Thank you. ♥️
Hi Jackson!
DeleteThank you very much for your kind comment!
I'm very happy you enjoyed the post and the pictures. I had a lot of fun setting up this scene, and the Midnight's story just came to me as I was doing so. Hopefully in the future I can write more complex stories like I used to do.
Thanks again, have a wonderful day!
Oh Ayrell, from the moment the first photo loaded on my web page I knew this would be interesting! What incredible details and wonderful setup you have created! It's fun to just look through the pictures at all the little items, from the lantern to the crystal ball to the scientific equipment ( I tried to remember the names of all those things, but my highschool chemistry knowledge failed me) and even the rug on the floor! It all creates the perfect kitchen for the Midnights!
ReplyDeleteThey themselves sound like a very interesting family - I'd love to hear more. I bought the Midnight cats myself a couple of years ago, but I left them to reside in their box because I was terrified of dust getting on their lovely black fur. (it's always dust!) I imagined mine living in a gypsy caravan, but unfortunately the one I have is already occupied. I might have to look into finding them their own though, as I would like them to be able to have their own space.
Thank you for sharing this lovely glimpse into the Midnights' home and life. I hope you are having a lovely month!
Hi Kelsie!
DeleteThank you so much for your kind comment, I'm so happy you enjoyed the post. I had a lot of fun setting up this scene, and the Re-Ment set I used is just perfect.
I understand what you mean about the dust. It does get stuck easily and is very visible in these gorgeous black cats. I'd love to see their caravan once you get the chance to work on it!
Thank you once again and have a lovely month as well!
Hi Ayrell!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the set up of this "magical" kitchen. There are so many details!
I don´t have any re-ment sets but I always enjoy looking at them. The miniatures are lovely and they´re the perfect size for Sylvanians.
Your pictures look amazing and the short story you wrote is great too!
I´m happy to meet the Midnight cat family. This kitchen is just perfect for them.
I really like how you combine some Sylvanian pieces of furniture with the rest of the set. They matched perfectly.
I love the little teapot and the cup of tea with the flower on top. That must be one Samantha´s teas. I wouldn´t mind trying it. I´m sure she uses her magical powers in a good way and I love herbal teas.
I was delighted to see a new story on your blog. Hope you find time and inspiration to spend more time with your Sylvanians during this year.
Have a nice day!
Hi Cutata!
DeleteThank you very much for your kind comment. :)
Re-Ment sets are really wonderful, and very high quality. Truly worth it! I was surprised at how well this set worked with Sylvanians. From pictures I'd seen I was afraid the plastic would be too shiny, but it's not the case at all. The furniture blends really nicely with my Sylvanian pieces, as you said. :)
The little cup of tea with the flower is one of my favourite items in the set too! The little flower is so tiny and adorable. I'm sure Samantha makes delicious herbal teas.
Thank you once again, my friend! Have a wonderful day!
Oh Ayrell, this is beautiful! I'm sorry it took me this long to come and look at it, but I'm so glad I finally did! My daughter also loved your setup. There are just so many lovely pieces here - the teapot and teacup! The spinning wheel! The test tubes and flasks! and the fact that Chantelle is using a plague mask for safety from the fumes...!!! It's all so cute, and you have blended it all so well with your Sylvanians. I do hope we hear more from your Midnight family someday. :)
ReplyDeleteHi GreyRabbit!
DeleteThank you very much for your kind comment. I'm very happy both you and Caitlyn enjoyed the setup. Re-Ment miniatures are amazing, and I've always loved witchy stuff, so this is one of my favourite scenes I've made to date as well. I've been very busy, but I also hope to be able to write more about the Midnights!
Thanks again, have a wonderful day!
