April 2022 Calendar Picture

Hello everyone!

We are now in the month of April and entering Spring in my part of the world. The sun we've had the past couple of days is most welcome, as we've had a very rainy and cloudy March with very little sunlight and opportunity to go out. I hope you are all doing OK!

This month, as usual, I bring you the picture in the SF Calendar

And it is quite the lovely illustration, very colourful and perfect for Easter! We have several of the children and babies of the village having fun with chocolate eggs, as well as decorating the huge one in the center! Egbert Highbranch, the giraffe father, seems to be supervising everyone. Love the ribbons, the flowers and decorations made of fabric and the tiny baskets. A very cheery picture indeed! The colours are beautifully pastel IRL, my photo doesn't really do it justice.

Have you managed to find all the hidden eggs? Do your Sylvanians have plans for Easter? Do tell! :D

I have not been able to do much with my Sylvanians recently because a couple of weeks ago I started working full-time for a new client in a very exciting position. I am still adapting to my new schedule and feeling a bit tired as a result, but I hope to get back on track soon, as I have plans for a story mentioning the nursery, as I mentioned in previous posts. I did get the building and the furniture I want to use out of their storage and started setting everything up, so all that's left is for me to gather enough motivation to continue! The fact that we have more hours of sunlight now will hopefully help.

We also took Vega (our dog; not a puppy anymore, really, as she's recently turned 1!) to the vet for her sterilization surgery this past Friday, so we have been a bit worried about her and giving her lots of attention this week-end. She's doing fine, though! She doesn't seem to be in pain at all anymore and is slowly showing her playful personality again. Hopefully in just a few days she'll be 100% back to normal.

I hope you're all doing well, stay safe and healthy and have a wonderful day!

  1. Thank you for sharing this happy, busy picture. All those fancy eggs! I think I found them all - eventually. I like the subdued outfits worn by the Dale sheep and... Freya?

I'm trying to think of a different approach for the forum challenge about the Easter egg hunt but I'm not there yet. Whatever I decide I think I'll take some extra photos as they will help with a future story I need to illustrate.

New jobs & schedules can be tiring; when I started working, it was part time. Then I started another job full time. I noticed the difference! Hopefully you will adjust soon and have time to spend on your hobbies. Good to hear about your doggie too. My friend has had a pup for around five months and it was his first dog. Not sure he appreciated how the disruption would affect him, but his joy with Lily compensates!

    Take care!

    1. Hi Jackson! Thank you for your comment!
It also took me a little while to find all the eggs! I agree that the outfits are a nice contrast to the rest of the very colourful items in the picture.
Looking forward to your Easter story! I need to catch up with the forum and the blog posts!
Thank you for your encouragement regarding my new job. I'm slowly adapting, but still feeling quite tired.
Ah, I understand your friend perfectly! The puppy months were definitely challenging, haha! It was unexpected for me as well (Vega is also my first dog). Do tell him it gets better around the 8 months-1 year mark. And as you said, the joy Lily brings him definitely makes up for everything else!

Thanks again, have a great week-end!

  2. Hi Ayrell! I hope you had a happy Easter and are enjoying your Spring weather!
It's lovely to see the Sylvanians in this picture celebrating Easter together, and what an abundance of eggs! I didn't get around to doing an Easter post about my Sylvanians but I know they enjoyed a peaceful weekend appreciating this celebration.
I wish you all the best with your new job and hope it continues to go well for you!
And congratulations to Vega too, on turning one! My own dog celebrated her 11th birthday at the start of this month (we had to hold a little party for her, with a cupcake of her very own), and I know it can sometimes be nerve wracking when our pets have to undergo procedures. I hope Vega is all recovered by now and enjoying normal life again with you!
    Thank you for sharing! :)

Glad you liked the calendar picture for April, so did I! I'm sure your Sylvanians had a wonderful time at Easter and I hope so did you!
Thank you very much for your support and well wishes regarding my job and dear Vega! Happy belated Birthday for your dog as well! I love those dog cupcakes, hehe, that's adorable!
Vega is 100% back to normal and her usual energetic self now. :)

      Have a wonderful day!
